Forever Friends (film)

Forever Friends (Chinese title: 号角响起;四个不平凡的少年) is a Taiwanese comedy war film released in 1996. It features Taiwan's popular "four little heavenly kings" (Nicky Wu, Alec Su, Jimmy Lin and Takeshi Kaneshiro) as friends serving in the army of Taiwan. It is directed by Zhu Yan Ping.

Synopsis

The general of a task force is assigned to organize an outstanding army. However, the army is composed of the worst soldiers in other teams. In order to deal with the strict leadership of the general, LiDaWei (李大维), ZenZhiXiang (曾志祥), LuoZhiJian (罗志坚) and WeiYaoNan (魏耀南),the four members in the army decide to cooperate with each other to play tricks on their general. The general has suffered a lot due to their sneaky plans. Later, LiDaWei (李大维) has some conflicts with other team members and has a big fighter with them. As a result, he is set into a confinement. Unexpectedly, the general orders someone to sent food to him. In the end, the four team members take responsibility to drive to supply water to other soldiers in military exercise. They capture the top commander of enemies. After the military exercise, they acquire respect and admiration of other soldiers.

At the time of filming, Lin was serving his mandatory military service in the army's entertainment division.
